It will soon be summer in China. Spring is over in a flash… there seems to be only about 2-3 weeks where one can hang up the winter coat and before the sweltering heat starts. I was on a business trip one year for 3 weeks and missed Spring entirely. No joke. But summer comes with its own pleasures and delights. In Shanghai the heat is sweltering thanks to near 100 percent humidity. And folks have lots of ways of coping. Some ways involve eating foods deemed to have cooling properties by traditional Chinese medicine…and others involve wearing foods? Here’s a little pre-summer food humor of kids wearing watermelons.
