Honored to be Nominated for Best Culinary Travel Blog in Saveur’s 1st Annual Best Food Blog Awards

by Paul on March 4, 2010

Hey all,
I woke up Tuesday morning and began my normal routine… Facebook, email, check the site’s traffic for the previous day. Thought to myself it was odd there was so much traffic coming from Saveur magazine. I wondered if they linked to an article of ours? Clicked through and was shocked to see us nominated in their 1st Annual Best Food Blog competition in the Best Culinary Travel Blog category. To not only be featured by Saveur magazine, but also listed along sites that are on my daily watch list – David Lebovitz, Cake Spy, Smitten Kitchen, 101 Cookbooks, and of course Homesick Texan (myself being a Texan away from home). I can’t imagine a greater compliment than being featured here…. well, OK I can think of one – actually winning the category :)

So if you haven’t yet voted please do us a favor and swing by Saveur Magazine’s 1st Annual Best Food Blog Awards and cast a vote for us in the Best Culinary Travel Blog (category 6 of 9). While you’re there do yourself a favor and take time to click through some of the other sites in all the various categories. There’s some amazing work being done by some really interesting people, and you might just find a new favorite.

Well I’m glad you were nominated because I regularly check most of those sites too and had not yet run across yours. I love the way you give a sense of both place and food in your photos. Good luck on the competition!

Hello Paul and Joanna,
Congratulations on the nomination. A truly beautiful blog that I plan to visit more often.
But I’m wondering…It looks like you have covered most of most of south-east asia – why not the Philippines?

We’d love to do more… just haven’t been there enough to comment :) Joanna has been but I’ve yet to visit. Our filipino friends here in Singapore are taking us around for some of the local dishes (something with Pork Belly that was awesome) and are always trying to plan a trip. Hopefully one day soon!
