Wow, thanks for the recommendation, I will check it out when I next go over to BKK. The place looks very cosy and nice!

I chanced upon your website as I was posting about Thanying in Singapore in my blog.

Maybe you can give it a try here when you come to Singapore. Food and service is good here too! ;)

I've wanted to go there forever but haven't yet! Always thought it was more expensive than this actually. I know we like the same kind of Thai food (I've come to adore that little open-air place on 18) so I'm sure I'll like it. I'll never understand why it is so hard to find the perfect balance between good food and nice environment in Bkk - it's either really good authentic Thai food but not exactly the place you wanna go if you want to treat visitors (P4 on 18, som tam maniya on Narathiwat Rd) OR pretty, Thai-dream like with overly sweet, denatured Thai food (Baan Chiang, Once upon a time, Baan Kanitha, Face...).
So I will be going there very soon and will definitely give you my impressions!

This is one of the ONLY "high end" Thai food that's a good value in my book in Bangkok. This is my favorite place to take people new to Thailand for a first meal before diving into street food. Normally when you get into fancy Thai restaurants the quality isn't there, but this place is consistent and stunning.

Thanks for the recommendation. I really enjoyed that place. Service was great, and a thing worth mentioning is that they can modify some dishes if you want them vegetarian.
