A bit of rejuvenation after a hard week for Paul and me :)

It was a banner week for Paul and me – from flying back from Sri Lanka on Tues and landing at 6am (and with me going straight to the office and facilitating an all-day workshop) to then putting on our first event the very next day….by the time Saturday arrived, we were in all honesty, shells of our usual selves. Tired, achy with that unmistakeable pale pallor of sheer exhaustion…we landed on the doorstep of Divine MedSpa in hopes of some rejuvenation.

There was a lot to choose from… Divine MedSpa offers all manner of spa treatments – from manicure / pedicures and slimming treatments, to chemical peels and facials, to energy healing and massage. After pondering our options, we actually decided to share the S$98 package that was offered to guests at our event – if by the way, you attended and did not get the offer, then shoot me an email and we will make sure it is available to you.  Paul chose the Divine Customized Massage (usually S$200) , featuring an 24K gold-infused oil. While I chose the Mesoceutical Facial (usually S$188), a facial treatment using Cool Jet technology to push a powerful cocktail of vitamins, antioxidants, firming agents and peptides into the skin.

Paul’s massage was a soothing, therapeutic rub-down. More than the typical soft sliding of hands, the expert masseuse worked out knots and areas of tension. Paul said as he fought to stay awake (so as to fully enjoy the experience), he felt that troublesome tension between his shoulders that the heavy camera bag creates just slip away. I found him later sipping tea in reception…totally relaxed and surprisingly not complaining about his back for the first time in a long time.

My facial was not only super relaxing but also quite effective. I wasn’t sure what to expect with the Cool Jet, but it felt like a cool refreshing spray on the face…simultaneously soothing and stimulating. I must admit though that I did not fight sleep as hard as Paul, so when my aesthetician left the room during the mask stage of the facial, I was out cold within milliseconds. I awoke to gentle hands completing the final touches of the facial…ahhhh bliss. When I looked in the mirror I was surprised to see that those dark circles under my eyes were gone, my skin had a wonderful pinkish glow and felt plump and firm. When we met up with a friend later the same day she was oozing compliments about my “gorgeous skin,” inspiring me to go without makeup for the rest of the weekend!

It made me realize – I don’t need a hell-week to treat myself to something restorative. This could and should become part of my weekly ritual. I know Paul’s back would thank him and perhaps I could finally send my perpetual dark eye circles away for good!
