Stand up comedy in Singapore every Tuesday night.
I heard about an event a couple months back thanks to a mailing list I was on, but was too chicken to attend in the end…free standup comedy lessons at Em by the River here in Singapore.
Since the initial class offering The Gallery Hotel has hosted a weekly open Mic night. The next one is tomorrow (Tues the 23rd of June) and starts at 8 p.m. Entrance is free if you’ll do a 5-7 minute set and 15 SGD (inclusive of one drink) if you want to come and watch people humiliate themselves and/or make you laugh 
I’m waiting for the next comedy clinic before taking to the stage myself…I’ve always loved standup comedy and have watched all the greats and wannabees since I was a little boy. Should be an interesting experience even if I bomb out… until then I’ll go sit in the back and watch those that have the guts to get up there and try something

We have a very special Tuesday (14 July) planned…..YES….we have a FREE Standup Comedy Class from 7:00 – 9:30pm being run by JAMI GONG, the founder of TakeOut Comedy, and he’s flying in specially from Hong Kong to run the class, and then immediately after, the famous OPEN MIC is happening! And yes, VIVEK MAHBUBANI IS GOING TO BE CLOSING THE SHOW!!!
